Long-tailed Jaeger brings me to 913

Image
I saw reports of a juvenile Long-tailed Jaeger at Hornsby Bend at FM 973. There are not many records of a Long-tailed Jaeger in TX mainland. It would be a rare bird even on a pelagic trip from TX. This sea-bird is common in Alaska during summer, but if you can have it in the mainland USA, that too in the city that you live in, it's better to take it. It would give me more time in AK to look for other birds that I would need.        A mere drive to the south-east corner of Pond 2 at Hornsby Bend was all that was needed to get bird number 913. Several birders were already on the bird when I arrived. It was out in the open and very co-operative.
